As cookie shop owners, we often get asked about the history of our shop. How did it start? What's the story behind it? Well, today we're going to answer all of those questions and more as we take a delicious journey through the history of Cookie Man Australia!

Cookie Man Australia's humble beginning

It all started in 1958 when we first opened our first retail cookie shop in the Melbourne Myer department store. We started out as ‘The Californian Cookie Company’, selling only our most famous baked biscuits - Californian Cookies - which are still being sold today.

That first retail store provided us with a model for a successful retailing formula which expanded into numerous outlets and an online store where every Aussie can conveniently shop their favourite cookies. 

From our humble beginning with one cookie type we introduced sixty years ago, our range of products has significantly expanded today. We also got an opportunity to share our other heirloom cookie recipes including Harlequins, Choc Pebble, Shortbread Biscuits and many more. 

How our cookies are made

At Cookie Man, we take pride and care in baking a wide range of home-style biscuits just for you. From traditional Anzac Biscuits to Decadent Triple Chocolate Cookies, our baked goodies are made using the finest ingredients at our SQF and HACCP certified facility in Mount Kuring-Gai, Sydney. All of our products are produced on the premises where wheat, oats, sesame seeds, nuts, dairy (milk), egg and soya products are processed.

We are also a 100% Australian-owned company. We proudly use Australian ingredients wherever possible, with imported ingredients only included when there are no other options.

We also use automated cookie ovens to produce the best cookies and biscuits for our consumers. These retail cookie ovens are supplied exclusively to Cookie Man both here in Australia and in the international markets.

Californian
The Californian is the first and original cookie that Cookie Man baked over 50 years ago. It’s a classic biscuit perfect for a light snack or after-dinner treat. The crunch of the cinnamon base topped with the delicacy of the almond will surely satisfy your sweet cravings. 

 

 

 

 

 

Harlequin

Choc Pebble
Looking for the best chocolate biscuits for your business? Our Choc Pebble is our signature rainbow chocolate cookie, perfect for chocolate lovers. We use Quinzi's Confectionery's famous choco pebbles onto our special chocolate dough to make these colourful and sweet Choc Pebble biscuits.

 

 

 

Salted Jersey Caramel

Our very own salted caramel cookies cookies are filled with jersey caramel pieces, Belgian white chocolate and sprinkled with sea salt. They are made with a sugar cookie base but with the added flavour of salted caramel. It also has salt, which gives these cookies a distinctive taste.
